With the Interactive Singapore Math Tutor Program your child will benefit from access to all the material in the K-5 Singapore Math program.
The Singapore Math Tutor Program groups your children according to their level of readiness, not grade level. Your children will be able to progress at their own pace, fill in gaps and move ahead beyond their current grade level.
The Singapore Math Tutor Program consists of 15 carefully constructed Units, which encompass the entire Singapore Math curriculum in elementary school. These units are called “Math Belts.”
Each Math Belt is color-coded: White (1 & 2), Yellow (1 & 2),Orange(1 & 2), Green (1 & 2), Blue (1 & 2), Purple (1 & 2), Red, Brown & Black. The color of the belt represents the level of math mastery. See Singapore Math Online Belts' description.
The color ranking was designed to boost self-confidence in your children. The color rankings benefit both advanced and, especially, below-grade learners. If your child is struggling with math, Singapore Math Tutor will uncover and fill in the gaps with the prior grades’ material. Your children will not know where a particular topic was covered in a regular program in school. Therefore, your children will focus on mastering each topic and moving ahead without feeling of having been left behind.

Math Belt Structure
A new section of each belt starts monthly. All belts run for twelve weeks, with a one-week period for review at the end, adjusted for school vacation. Your child will systematically proceed through a regular series of 3 belts per year. A fast belt option gives your children the opportunity to move beyond their grade level.
Each week consists of two lessons and an assignment during the duration of the twelve-week program. Your children do not have to be present when lessons are released. You and your children will have access to all lessons in the belt until your child completes the belt.
A post-belt test will be released at the end of the 12th week. It will measure the level of your children’s understanding. You will receive the results via email. Depending on the result, your children will be able to move on to the next belt or repeat the prior belt if needed.
After successfully completing each 12 week program, your children will be issued a certificate and they will be enrolled in the next belt. The prior belt lessons will automatically close after enrollment into the new belt class.
Teaching Sequence
- Pre-Test – The purpose of the pre-test is to place your child in the appropriate level belt. It will measure your children’s current knowledge of the subject matter. Your children may retake the pre-test after completing a belt and compare their initial pre-test score with the final one.
- Lessons – Your children will be introduced to every new topic with the famous Singapore Math semi-concrete to pictorial to abstract online learning sequence. The semi-concrete environment lessons consist of age-appropriate situations with vivid and colorful pictures. Many lessons begin by asking your children to solve a problem and then visually explain how to solve it correctly.
- Practice – Your children gain math confidence when given sufficient opportunity to practice every new concept and skill. Both advanced and struggling learners will benefit from practicing problems of various difficulties.
- Word Problems and Bar Modeling – Your children will benefit from learning how to solve word problems on many topics in the elementary school curriculum, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, proportions and others. They will learn the most powerful bar modeling visualization techniques to enable them to solve multi-step word problems with ease and consistency every time.
- Post-test – Your children’s knowledge and progress will be assessed and carefully monitored with the comprehensive post-topic assessments. These comprehensive assessments help to uncover gaps in understanding and move your children ahead beyond their grade level. Short quizzes will also be included as part of self-learning.
With the help of the Singapore Math Tutor program, your children will learn the “whys” of math and then practice to ensure the lasting mastery of math concepts.
